    Branding is a BIG chore. We spend a lot of time preparing for the big day and let me tell you it is WORK. It is also one of the best days of the year. We calve earlier than most (in January), so we tend to be one of the first brandings of the year, which is nice because once we are done with our branding, then we can enjoy everyone else’s!     We decided to mix up our branding this year and make crockpot pulled pork sandwiches for the branding crew. Little did I know, it was a HUGE success. Everyone raved about how delicious the pork was. Because we have a quite a few children attend our branding, I made two crockpots, one spicy and the other not spicy, and it was great to have a mix of both.     What Seeds to Plant and When One of my favorite guides to planting seeds is the farmer’s almanac. Every year, I pull up their planting calendar, enter my zip code, and determine when I should start planting my seeds; both indoors and outdoors. I don’t like to get too picky about separating my indoor seed planting based on each week.
