Baking with Boone
Baking with Boone is my blog segment dedicated to baking with my son, Boone. I used to be a terrible baker. The old me has burnt cakes to a crisp, accidentally put far too much salt in lemon bars, and failed at everything I tried to bake. When my son was about a year old, my mom started baking with him and he loved it. So, I told myself I was going to learn how to bake myself. Determination led me to show Boone the process of baking from start to finish. This included enjoying the finished product together, so it HAD to taste good. I found a passion I NEVER expected to find, and I know Boone will remember this time with his mama for many years to come.
I hope you can use these recipes to grow memories and traditions in your family that last a lifetime. Each of my baking with Boone recipes will include a * by the instructions. This helps to identify the steps where you can incorporate your kiddos into the baking process. If appropriate for your kiddo, have them help stir, turn the mixer on with you, add ingredients, pour, and decorate. I recommend supervising your kiddo at ALL times. Also, trust your mama gut! You know what your kids can and can’t do better than anyone. I hope you all enjoy Baking with Boone as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
I highly encourage you to post pictures of your recipes or your kiddos helping you in the kitchen and tag me in them on Facebook or Instagram!
